The Patrick Healy Award
Patrick Healy was the first African-American president of a major American university. Following the Civil War, he led Georgetown through a period of extensive growth and is credited with changing the university from a small liberal arts college into a modern university. The Patrick Healy award honors non-alumni who carry on his tradition of service to the university, and is awarded to one individual each year.
