Virginia L. Mortara

Litchfield, Conn.

Virginia Mortara is the wife of the late Michael Mortara (F’71) and the mother of Michael Jr. (F’04) and Matthew (F’09). After Michael Mortara’s death in November 2000, Virginia Mortara decided to honor his love for Georgetown by establishing the Mortara Center for International Studies and the Mortara Distinguished Professorship in the Practice of Diplomacy, currently held by former secretary of state Madeleine Albright. Virginia Mortara lives in Washington, D.C., and Connecticut and is currently a member of the Board of Directors.
