Vegas

In 2006, Georgetown travels to Las Vegas – entertainment capital of the world and international business hub. What you've learned from the movies is true, but it's not the whole story. Learn more about visiting Las Vegas and the city's unconventional history.

While we're in Vegas, we'll take in world-class shows by Cirque du Soleil and Blue Man Group – we'll go on a private tour of the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay – we'll tour museums and discuss the issues of the day in seminars with Georgetown faculty. We might even learn to gamble! Most of all, we'll celebrate Georgetown, and the alumni, parents, and friends that make Georgetown great.

Georgetown has arranged for a limited number of tickets to shows by Elton John, Blue Man Group, and Cirque du Soleil, as well as backstage tours of Blue Man Group and the Cirque du Soleil's "Mystère." As well, the Las Vegas Tourism Web site has information on getting show tickets (please note that Celine Dion will be on vacation during the week we're in Vegas).

Climate

The temperature in Las Vegas in early April ranges from 80 degrees Fahrenheit during the day to 55 degrees Fahrenheit in the evening.
